(FM24) From Port To Prem: Season 1, Part 1…

Board Expectations

Were pretty clear from the start in the three cup competitions we were in, be competitive. I pretty much hoping to at least get into the latter stages of them with the squad that I have assembled for the season ahead. In the league, is to record a West of Scotland (WoS) 3rd Division, really…I am hoping for promotion at the first time of asking!!!

August ’23

After an unbeaten preseason, CoxieFM starts his managerial debut in the the depths of nonleague football in Scotland at home against Glasgow United. We won our first game of the season comfortable, winning 4-1 to go top of the WoS 3rd Div from day one of the campaign.

We played another five games in the month of August and won all of them including two more fixtures in the league. The Undertakers beat the likes of Girvan and Ardeer Thistle 6-1 and 3-2 respectively in the league to remain top. The other three games in the month saw us enter all three of the cup competitions that we were in their 1st round ties. We beat Vale of Leven 3-0 and West Park 2-0 in the Strathclyde Demolition Cup and WoS League Cup with ease. David McKenna, the 37 year veteran forward got the first hat-trick of this season in the 4-2 victory over Saltcoats Vics in the South Challenge Cup.

September ’23

I will start by saying we were safely through into the 3rd round by beating our 2nd round opponents in the South Challenge Cup and WoS League with a 3-1 victory over Wishaw and a very convincing 5-0 win over Muirkirk. Our unbeaten run in the league continued and we remained at the top of the league too. However, Lanark United who were the bottom at the time, of course were the first side who we dropped points against in a 4-4 draw. One of my summer signings Sean Linden scored twice and set up a goal in the 4-4 draw and was named player of the week.

We won the other three league matches in this month too, making it seven league games in a row unbeaten.

David McKenna, the 37 year veteran forward, also got in the act with player of the week in the 2-1 victory, scoring both of the goals.

October ’23

Our biggest win of the campaign so far was the 7-2 thrashing of Bellshill before days later beating them again but this time only 4-0 in the 2nd round of the Strathclyde Demolition Cup. Three more league wins followed before Kello Rovers held us to our second league draw of the season. However, we are currently unbeaten in 12 league games.

Overview

We are currently top of the league and a point ahead of fierce rivals Greenock, who we haven’t played yet in the league and the supporters are demanding we beat them. Also, we are through into the 3rd round of all three cup competitions we are in…
